Bangor Comets Junior Update
Updates
The 2026/2027 season kicked off with a bang for the Bangor Barden Ridge Comets, bringing plenty of excitement both on and off the field!
Exciting Coaching News
We are thrilled to welcome our new Club Coach, Dean Parker, who takes the reins from Josh Davis. Josh has done an amazing job with our juniors over a number of years, and we extend a huge thank you to him for his dedicated service. Dean brings a wealth of experience to the role as a Level 2 Coach and the current captain of the Sutherland Metropolitan Cup side. He is eager to work closely with each team’s coach to help our young players elevate their game. Welcome to the team, Dean!
Preseason Prep & Team Selections
Following a couple of great preseason hit-outs at the Ridge, team selections took place over two evenings at the first-class Norm O’Neill Indoor Cricket Centre. Playing indoors guaranteed top-tier conditions regardless of the weather. It was fantastic to welcome so many new faces to the Comets family while seeing the return of so many of our talented junior players.
A Bright Future Ahead
For the 2026/2027 season, the Comets will be fielding eight junior teams. Promisingly, 75% of those teams are in the U10s and U12s, pointing to a very bright future for our club!
We can’t wait to see all of our junior Comets build their skills, grow as teammates, and – most importantly – have a blast playing cricket with their friends this season. Go Comets!
